DJs at the Polls is a national, non-partisan Get Out the Vote program that places DJs in densely populated urban areas with large numbers of underrepresented voters to help whole communities celebrate Election Day. Founded in 2008 in Philadelphia by Anton Moore and some friends, DJs at the Polls has grown into a national movement, with DJs at eleven states, and thousands of polling locations.
Based on a 2022 randomized control trial in Philadelphia, at polling sites where our DJs performed, voter turnout increased 3%.
DJs at the Polls believes that whole communities - whether they’re voters or not - should know that Democracy is worthy of celebration.

We are planning for DJs at the Polls to continue to provide entertainment and bring joy to polling sites during all kinds of elections - local and national - for years to come. t

We would LOVE to be everywhere…and maybe some day we will be. But for this first large-scale activation, we chose areas with large numbers of “low-propensity” voters: those registered voters who sometimes vote…but not always, with the hopes of encouraging to Get out the Vote!

In several large urban centers: Milwaukee, Philly, Detroit, Atlanta, Charotte- you’re very likely to have a DJ at your poll. In other places, we tried to spread around the DJs so that at least some voters in every part of the states where we are active had the opportunity to celebrate with us.
If there will be a DJ at your polling site, you probably got a text or postcard from us letting you know.

We are mostly done! But we do still have some need for Election Day volunteers to answer and make calls, and to respond to texts and emails.
As a volunteer, you will be able to work from home, from your computer, and still have a measurable impact as part of our joyful organization.
